Just wanna share this with everyone...I don't know whether u guys have already know about this but I definitely just know about it today.

Do u guys know where the word "Algebra" came from??.

I just know that it actually come from an Arabic word. It's a latin variant of the Arabic word "al-jabr". This Arabic word came from a book written by no other than Muhammad Ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi or known as Al-Khawarizmi. In the west he's known as al-Cowarizmi, al-Karismi, al-Goritmi dan al-Gorism. While in France they know him as Augryam atau Angrism. The book title is Al-Jabr wa-al-Muqabilah and this book can be considered the first book written, about Algebra. He has always been regard as the Father of Modern Algebra and Algorithm.

What drive him to indulge himself in Mathematics?? The purpose he learned Maths is to help the Muslim people at that time in matters regarding calculation of zakat, faraidh,mudharabah,the direction of kiblat and the distance of bermusafir dalam perlaksanaan solat. I believe these are just some of the many other reasons why. He's the first to introduce natural numbers. Bdk2 Maths mesti tau kan natural numbers.Ala bdk2 xMaths pun mesti tau kan??..Ok la the first section of his book is mainly about solving equations and website ni kata, his maths in done entirely in words with no symbols being used!!hurm....

For more information, sila la search google for Al-Khawarizmi ye..huhu...ni pun xsengaja tercari about him..woke up early and then feel sleepy doing stats, so i started surfing about ilmuwan matematik Islam and I found him!!!..ye la,all this time just know the name but don't really know what actually he did..so now at least i know a bit..being a future maths teacher i think i should know a little about the history of maths..haa...next year mmg kene pun kan..huhu..wait till next year la..
